A large suburb of San Francisco, the city of Walnut Creek, California, lies right of I-680 just inland from the bay of San Francisco. The city is home to about 65,000 residents within the borders of Contra Costa County and about 15 miles from San Francisco. It lies along Mount Diablo’s westernly slopes, in between the San Ramon and Ygnacio valleys. Two gardens are maintained in the city and offer a spot for residents to stop by to relax and enjoy the area’s temperate weather against a scenic backdrop.
