A large but unincorporated city east of San Francisco’s Bay, Castro Valley, California, is the home of over 55,000 residents. It lies within the borders of Alameda County and is one of the most populated unincorporated areas in the state. The public schooling system here is made up of eight primary schools, a pair of junior highs and a single senior-high school. In addition, there are a handful of private schools in operate to offer an alternative to parents in the area. There is one Bay Area Rapid Transit railway station in the town, and residents can catch a BART train at this station to connect them with San Francisco, Oakland and a number of cities throughout the region.

A golf course, a regional recreational area and a regional park offer outdoor venues to enjoy the area’s temperate climate, and the city’s most notable attraction is its 300-plus-acre Chabot Lake. Two area hospitals serve the medical needs of those in the region and a shopping center provides a convenient place where all the items on your list can be found.
