Making up the eastern portions of the greater city of Anaheim, the enclave of Anaheim Hills, California, is a planned community in Orange County. It lies in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains, just south of Yorba Linda. Anaheim Hills is about 12 miles east of Anaheim proper and about 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and it is one of the most quickly growing and developing areas in Anaheim. The community is made up of 23 community associations, led by its overseer, the Anaheim Hills Planned Community Association. Orange Unified School District operates the public schools here, which include seven elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, with another four large private schools complementing the options.
Attractions in the community include the Anaheim Hills Golf Course, Weir Canyon Regional Park and the Walnut Canyon Reservoir. Meanwhile, nearby in Anaheim proper, such attractions as Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center can be found. For easy access to neighboring cities and town, there are two public bus systems in operation here, Metro and Orange County Transportation Authority, and two railway systems, Amtrak and Metrolink. Residents are commonly fans of their hometown teams, baseball's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and hockey's Anaheim Ducks.
